Schematic Level

Any new electronic device will start as a block diagram and/or a set of electronics schematics. Your schematic is similar to the blueprints for your new device.


1. Creat Blank PCB Layout
2. Creating PCB library
3. Creating Footprints for the respective components which were used in schematic
4. If the printed circuit board shape, dimensions, and layer stackup for your board have already been determined, you can set them now.
5. Schematic Capture
    Linking schematic components to PCB file
    Netlist and BOM generation
6. PCB design stack up
    Board shape
    Number of layers.
7.Define design rules and DFM Requirements
    Checking your components datasheet for these design rules.
    We follow standard rules which are set by the PCB designing Standards for human and component.
    IPC (Interconnecting and Packaging Electronic Circuits) standard for every aspect of PCB design, manufacture.
    If necessary, we can create new design rules by following the steps Design Rule Wizard.
    Check for the Length, width and Diameter of vias, drill holes.
    Number of layers.
8. Placement of components
    Component placement or Partitioning is an important aspect of PCB layout that has a significant impact on the board’s EMC.
9. Route Traces
    Routing is also known as “tracking”. Routing is the process of laying down tracks to connect components on your board.
10. Generate Design Files

Layout engineers can demand the following details from the mechanical team.

    Mechanical designer can help in improving amount of heat dissipation with manual calculations and thermal
    PCB mounting details
    Connector positions
    Maximum component height constraints.
